14 Control-algorithm foundations

This chapter brings together the early foundations of the cxOT control algorithm. The papers develop the convergence requirements, the history-buffer control algorithm, analysis of its quadratic complexity, merging of operations, vector times, and the context relations that connect the transformation variants. They were written between 2005 and 2008 and are arranged to show the development from the control algorithm and its complexity problem to the later foundations.
