4. Make some edits and check in the changes
Fred types some text in the window as follows:
An asterisk appears in the title bar to indicate there are edits in this local working copy that haven't been committed to the repository. The number of individual uncommitted edits by Fred is 35 (shown on the right hand side).
Fred commits this edit into the repository (more specifically onto branch head) by selecting Check In in the menu:
This causes the asterisk to be removed from the title bar because there are no longer any uncommitted changes:
Fred makes some more edits and the asterisk reappears:
