1. Introduction

CoEdit is a simple demonstrator program allowing editing of a single text document with convenient functions to access an associated repository.

The following is a simple walkthrough example to describe the concepts of branching and merging. It also shows how real time collaboration fits neatly into the picture.

Note that CEDA more generally allows these functions to work efficiently across all types of data (not just text).
