Slide 5 : Integration Point

Another advantage of the data-centric approach (together with a generic component architecture) is that it is ideal for an integration point.

The user can build a data-centric virtual world that brings together information from many systems.

As an example, a 3D visualisation framework can display drill holes stored natively in the CEDA OODB, or else drill holes stored remotely (such as in an Acquire database). This simply involves programming by interface.
