Slide 2 : Application-Centric
One of the philosophical principles behind CEDA is to move away from the idea of files and applications – a cumbersome approach to use a computer!
The following slide reminds us of the application-centric approach, with files that can only be viewed or edited after running the appropriate application (such as Microsoft WORD).
Applications are characterised by menu systems and tools bars around the actual data, so that it doesn’t make sense for applications to compose.
